History of Hope

The M/V Pacific Hope was purchased in 2013 by Marine Reach New Zealand. Since then, she has undergone extensive renovations to include suitable accommodations for 60 crew and medical personnel, training facilities and a fully functional dental/ophthalmology clinic.

In June 2015, she departed New Zealand and led medical outreaches in Fiji and Vanuatu. Over the next three years, m/v Pacific Hope brought free medical care and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to thousands of men, women and children living in some of the most isolated islands in the South Pacific.

Following an exciting and dynamic outreach season in Vanuatu, m/v Pacific Hope sailed to Dominica in 2018 where she began providing ship-based construction, medical and ministry outreach to the Caribbean islands hit hardest by Hurricane Maria, Irma and Dorian.

With a fully functional and state-of-the-art dental clinic, eye surgery unit, and general medical facility, the m/v Pacific Hope continues to make a great impact in ministering, assisting, and restoring hope to the island communities.
